The theme for last spring’s Telesummit was “Co-Creating the Future of Yoga”. In 2012 we’ve decided to break up the Telesummit into a series of ‘micro-summits’ on various topics relevant to today’s yoga teacher.
I believe that we are all — as students, teachers, entrepreneurs, leaders, parents, studio owners — co-creating the emergent future together as conscious agents of change. We are ushering in an era of Yoga practice and philosophy that is even more impactful and powerful than anything the world has ever seen or experienced before. At the same time, our fellow brother and sister beings have never been more in need of a yoga that speaks to the unique challenges and opportunities we face at this critical moment in our evolution as a species. The Yoga of today and tomorrow must be a thoroughly modern practice that both honors our ancestral roots and also invites us to step into our future possibilities as both individuals and communities.
Thich Nhat Hanh said that the next Buddha would not be an individual, but a community or a collective; it seems obvious that our global yoga community is one of the emerging collective Buddhas focused on alleviating suffering and creating more peace and joy in the world. I am so grateful to YOU for being part of this global community.
This Telesummit is designed to motivate, inspire, and educate yoga teachers and dedicated students from all over the planet; to connect and share and inquire; to provide tools for teachers, studio owners, and other yoga-related entrepreneurs to become more authentic and more sustainable, to broaden their reach and focus their attention on what really matters; to create a dialogue between many different styles, traditions, and schools of Yoga to find our common ground, the shared pscyho-spiritual ‘trunk’ that roots the yogic tree into the cosmic ground of our being.
